DETAILED ITINERARY


Day 01 - Arrive in Kathmandu
On arrival at the Kathmandu airport our representative will come to pick up you and take you to your hotel where a brief will be given to explain your upcoming program. Rest of the day is free.

Day 02 - Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After breakfast one of our guides will take you for a complete visit of Kathmandu including: Bhoudanath (The little Tibet), Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple), Syambhunath (The monkey Temple) and the old royal palace (Kathmandu Durbar Square).

Day 03 - Flight to Lukla & trek to Phakding
Early in the morning we will drive to the airport and board our plane to Lukla (40mn scenic flight). After lunch, we make a descent towards the Dudhkosi valley and then head towards Phakding where we will stay overnight. Walking time: 3-4 hrs

Day 04 - Trek to Namche (3,450m)
After breakfast we will continue up the banks of the Dudh Kosi before reaching Monjo (entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park). A steep ascent will then bring us to the typical village of Namche Bazaar. Walking time: 4-5 hrs

Day 05 - Rest day in Namche
Today we will take a rest day to allow our body to acclimatize to the altitude and visit Namche Bazaar and its surroundings. From the Everest view point Hotel you will get your first glimpse of Ama Dablam and of Mount Everest.

Day 06 - Trek to Thyangboche(3,850m)
We resume our trek up with a pleasant walk through dense forests, yak pastures and breathtaking landscapes. We will visit few picturesque villages on our way to Thyangboche. Walking time: 5-6 hrs

Day 07 - Trek to Pheriche (4,250m)
Today we first descend through a forest, cross the Imja River and then climb to the traditional village of Pangboche. The trail is afterwards going gradually up to our destination of the day: Pheriche. Walking time: 5-6 hrs

Day 08 - Trek to Lobuche (4,900m
After breakfast we resume our trek that will take us to a memorial recalling the unfortunate climbers who passed away on the surrounding mountains and then follow the trail to the north where Lobuche is located. Walking time: 4-5 hrs

Day 09 - Trek to Gorak Shep (5,150m)
The trail leading to Gorap Shep is rocky and windy but the panorama on Nuptse, Pumori and other peaks is magnificent. After lunch, we will head towards the famous Kala Pattar viewpoint. It will take us approximately 3/4 hours to reach the summit from where we can get a close-up view of the mighty Mount Everest.

Day 10 - Trek to Everest base camp (5,400m) and trek back to Lobuche (4,900m)
Today we will visit the Everest base camp and the Khumbu icefall. The trail goes through rocky dunes and moraines; eventually leading us to the base camp where many climbing teams established their home during the climbing season. We then trek back to Lobuche.

Day 11 - Trek to Dingboche (4,350m)
We head back down today to the village of Dingboche. Excitement is building up as we slowly approach the base camp of Island Peak.

Day 12 - Trek to Chukhung (4,750m)
Today’s hike is quite short and that will allow the team to rest and prepare the climbing materials.

Day 13 - Trek to Island Peak Base Camp (5,150m)
The trail leading to the Island Peak base camp is straightforward and it is definitely a pleasant walk with constant view of the Island Peak. We will have our lunch at the base camp and get ready for the next day.

Day 14 - Ascent of Island Peak (6,189m)
The big day has arrived. After an early breakfast (2 or 3 in the morning) we follow the trail leading to the base of the mountain and start climbing through rocky sections. The trail will take us to the high camp and eventually to the bottom of the top glacier. We take a moment to get the materials ready and step on the glacier that will take us to the summit of Island peak. A 60 meters high wall is the only difficulty on the expedition and a final ridge leads to the summit of Island Peak standing at 6,189m. The views are absolutely breathtaking. After congratulations and photos we then head back down to Chukhung or the base camp.

Day 15 - Rest / Weather day
Depending on the weather conditions, we might have to postpone the summit day so we have included an extra day in the itinerary.

Day 16/17/18 - Trek to Lukla
We now have 3 days to go back down to Lukla. The trail is the same as the one we took a few days ago.

Day 19 - Fly to Kathmandu
Early in the morning we will take the final flight back to Kathmandu where you can enjoy some shopping/visiting or just relax in the capital.

Day 20 - Free day in Kathmandu
You can enjoy the day to relax in Thamel, go shopping, stroll in downtown, enjoy some fine cuisine...

Day 21 - Depart Kathmandu
